Middle School Band

 

There are two middle school bands at MCE: 6th grade beginning band and 7th/8th grade combined band. In beginning band, students have the option to learn flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, or percussion. They will learn the basics of reading and playing music on their instruments and will perform in 3 concerts throughout the year. 

 

The 7th/8th grade band is comprised of students who completed 6th grade beginning band and have learned the basics of reading and playing music on their instrument. Students in 7th/8th grade have the option of trying out instruments like tenor saxophone, tuba, and bass clarinet. Students in 7th/8th grade band perform in 4 concerts throughout the year and have the opportunity to play with the high school pep band at basketball games. 

 

High School Band

 

 

The high school band is comprised of students in 9th-12th grade band who were in band from 6th-8th grade. In addition to performing in 4 concerts throughout the year, the MCE high school pep band plays at a select number of basketball games and at graduation at the end of the year.
