MCE teams win track jamboree
Brethren- Winning 12 of the 17 events, the Mason County Eastern girls track and field team won the third and final Western Michigan D League Jamboree of the season on Wednesday.
The Cardinals outpointed Onekama-Bear Lake, 194-155.
"We've won two of the three league jamborees now and that pretty much guarantees us at least a share of the league title," said MCE coach Matt Millspaugh. The WMD conference meet is next Wednesday at Onekama. Erica Knizacky and Jen Spinner paced the Cardinals by winning three individual events apiece. Knizacky won the 3,200, 1,600, and 800 runs. Spinner was first in the long jump, pole vault and 400 meters.
