Eastern wins quadrangular
CUSTER- Led by Brad Dodson and Eric Purple, Mason County Eastern finshed first in a four-team, nine-hole golf competition hosted by Pentwater High at Golden Sands on Thursday afternoon.
Dodson finshed with a 38 followed by Purple at 39 and Eastern, as a team, shot a 170. Fremont Providence Christian ws second at 173, McBain Northern Michigan Christian had a 195 and Pentwater a 215.
"Brad and Eric had a good day," said Eastern coach Tod Howell. "It's a par 33 so it's definitely not the length of most courses, but you still have to play the course."
Alfor Eastern Chance Christmas shot a 46, Tom Grimm a 47 and Chase Anderson a 48.
"We're showing some signs of life," said Howell, "I told the guys this is a step forward. We just have to keep moving that way."
On Monday, Eastern hosts McBain Christian in a duel at Lakeside Links and next Friday, plays in the Hart Invitational at the Colonial.
